Wolves told to get on with it
UEFA denied Wolves request to have their game on Thursday cancelled due to the corona virus. Stated it would put team, family and friends at risk. All the better for us on Sunday.

Re: Wolves told to get on with it
They will have the game in Greece on Thursday with the travelling and also the return leg the next week. Otherwise if cancelled they get a long rest.

I’d be happy if f they cancel the season.

I see, teams being in the Europa hasn’t really stopped them beating us before though has it?

We need all the help we can get, Johnson.

Tbh its West Ham. We could be playing a team infected with leprosy or the plague and still manage to lose.

Re: Wolves told to get on with it
If they have to play tomorrow, I wonder if then maybe our game on Sunday will be cancelled.

I’m assuming it would be just our luck to be the first/only team where a bunch of players get the virus. I wonder what the PL would even do under those circumstances?

This will be called off we played Arsenal Saturday after they played Olympiakos

Man City Arsenal called off
What a shambles

Re: Wolves told to get on with it
It's being reported that all Olympiakos players and officials have been tested and all come back negative, so hopefully that won't happen. Would be a fucking 'mare.

Re: Wolves told to get on with it
Given the Man City game has been postponed, I can't see our game happening whatsoever on Sunday.

Re: Wolves told to get on with it
Does make you wonder if any clubs might try to use this situation to their advantage ie have a player(s) missing for whatever reason then get a game(s) called off by saying squad is self-isolating for "precautionary measures".

Re: Wolves told to get on with it
Olympiacos players tests all negative this morning. So Wolves can play. Albeit with no fans. And so will we. Albeit with no fans from 70 minutes (joke!)

People saying it’s a good thing wolves having to play Thursday but maybe I’ve read it wrong somewhere. Haven’t they got the best record for teams after playing Thursdays or something showing it doesn’t really effect them?.

Jasnik 3:06 Wed Mar 11
Re: Wolves told to get on with it
They will just cancel our game.

WEST HAM VS WOLVES TO GO AHEAD

West Ham say their Premier League with Wolves on Sunday is scheduled to go ahead as planned, although the club are monitoring the situation.

Last Saturday the Hammers played Arsenal, who have since had their match at Manchester City postponed due to coronavirus fears.

“West Ham United continues to closely monitor the situation regarding the Coronavirus outbreak,” West Ham said in a statement.

“All necessary measures are being taken and our medical staff, in line with guidance and advice from the relevant authorities, are constantly managing the club’s position, with the safety and welfare of our players, staff and supporters being of paramount importance.

“After discussions with the Premier League and our medical team, Sunday’s game against Wolverhampton Wanderers at London Stadium is scheduled to go ahead as planned.

“The club will keep supporters updated should the situation change.”

There were 12 days between Olympiakos' match against Arsenal and Marinakis' announcement.

Arsenal played twice in that time, while Marinakis was present at the City Ground for Forest's Championship game against Millwall on Friday.

Here is a timeline of events so far:

Marinakis was at Emirates Stadium for Arsenal's Europa League last-32 second leg against Olympiakos on 27 February.
The Gunners played League One Portsmouth in the FA Cup on 2 March.
Marinakis attended Forest's Championship match against Millwall at the City Ground on 6 March.
Arsenal played West Ham in the Premier League on 7 March.
Portsmouth played Peterborough in League One on 7 March and Fleetwood on 10 March.
Marinakis confirmed he had tested positive for coronavirus on 10 March.
Wolves play Olympiakos in the Europa League behind closed doors on Thursday after their request to have the tie postponed was rejected by Uefa.
Arsenal are due to play Brighton on Saturday while Nottingham Forest travel to Sheffield Wednesday, Millwall host Derby and Portsmouth face Accrington.
West Ham are scheduled to play Wolves in the Premier League on Sunday.

I think next weekend will either see PL games cancelled, or more likely, played behind closed doors.

davese16,

Obviously they didn't know they were at risk until Marinakis confirmed he had tested positive, so why wouldn't our game go ahead? The Arsenal players who were in contact with him only went in self-isolation yesterday. The 14 day period applies from the day on which they came into contact with the infected person, and that expires on Thursday.

I hope the medical team that ok'ed Wilshere's transfer won't be doing any of the COVID-19 tests...

The team would probably all end up dying of septicemia.
